We roast in small batches above the shop, so the bags on the shelf are usually a few days old, not a few months.
Our story
We started in a garage, not a boardroom.
Arisan opened in 2015 with one roaster and four tables. We still buy from two of the same farms we started with — the owner visits one of them most winters, mostly as an excuse to get out of the cold here.
Roasted upstairs, weekly
You can usually smell it from the sidewalk on Thursday mornings, which is when we run the batch.
Baristas who stay
Two of our four have been here more than three years, which the regulars notice more than we expected.
